Dr. Andri Syah Awarded as BCLA Fellow in Tokyo

The Philippine College of Optometrists is proud to announce that one of its esteemed colleagues, Dr. Andri Syah has officially been awarded a Fellowship of the British Contact Lens Association (BCLA). The prestigious distinction was presented during the recently concluded BCLA Asia 2026 conference, held from May 29–31 at the brand-new Takanawa Gateway Convention Center in Tokyo.

A Benchmark of Eye Care Excellence
The BCLA Fellowship scheme recognizes global eye care professionals who have made significant, high-level contributions to the field of contact lenses and the ocular surface. To qualify, candidates must build a comprehensive portfolio demonstrating advanced clinical case records, peer-reviewed research, or innovations in contact lens design, followed by a final viva voce (oral) assessment by an international panel of experts.

This fellowship is a manifest of our fellows’ passion to hone their skills and grow in their respective fields of interest. With this achievement, Dr. Syah becomes the third fellow from PCO to earn the highly coveted FBCLA postnominal, cementing the organization’s growing footprint in international eye care excellence.
